The National Education Association is the largest teachers’ union in the country, representing over 3 million members and raking in well over $300 million in dues each year.
This site explores the union’s background, its agenda for schools, political activity and its alliances with other left-leaning groups.
We provide financial information, including revenue and expenditures, as well as compensation of employees—all of which is obtained from filings with the Department of Labor.
This site is a project of Education Action Group Foundation, a pro-reform 501(c)(3) organization. We are not critical of teachers but rather the radical organization many of them are required to financially support as a condition of employment. Some of the documents contained herein have been provided by NEA members themselves.

“The major purpose of our association is not the education of children, it is or ought to be the extension and/or preservation of our members’ rights. We earnestly care about the kids learning, but that is secondary to the other goals.”
